So You Want To Be An Olympic Curler?

Are you a high school athlete who has watched curling during the Winter Olympics ? And maybe you’re thinking you could dominate?

Well, let’s find out.

Throughout February, many USA Curling Member Clubs across the country are offering special So You Want to be an Olympic Curler days . Come alone or bring your friends, your siblings, your teammates and yes, even your parents—anyone who is interested or just curious.

Coach Instructors will show you the basics, discuss what the journey in curling is like, and help you understand why jumping into this lifetime sport as a teenager is a great choice whether you wind up in the Olympics or not.

Try it—really try it—and we think you’ll be hooked. Those players you’re watching in the Games? Many of them started playing while in high school. Some played other sports before they curled. All found that curling challenged them—physically and mentally—and they found a great community of people once they jumped in.

Following the instruction, you’ll learn about youth curling opportunities at the club and in your area, and you’ll leave with ideas about how you can improve the next time you’re on the ice. Like any sport, the first time is the toughest. So don’t just try it once—come back and really give it a go. You’ll find that even if it seems hard at first, initial improvement comes quickly. And if you don’t end up in the Olympics, you have discovered a sport you can compete in and enjoy for the rest of your life.

What: An opportunity for high schoolers to try this lifetime sport and learn more about it.
