In the second round robin session for the men’s field at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling, Team Shuster achieved their second win, handing Team Dunnam their first loss with a 9-3 victory after eight ends of play.

Team Persinger faced Team Brundidge in a game that was kept close for the first half, but Persinger’s efficiency with hammer, plus a steal of three in the ninth went unmatched from the Brundidge rink. With a 10-4 victory over Team Brundidge, Team Persinger extended their record to 2-0 while Brundidge fell to 0-2.

On the feature sheet, Team Dropkin faced Team Ruohonen. Both teams entered the contest hungry for a win after falling short in the men’s opening session on Thursday evening.

After blanking the first end, Team Dropkin was first on the scoreboard with a score four after executing a split on their final stone of the second end to add an additional two stones to their already two counters.

Team Ruohonen responded with a score of two in the third but was unable to catch the lead established early by Team Dropkin, resulting in a final score of 7-4.

"It was important to get out there and get a win,” said Korey Dropkin. “Really, it's just about battling every game, taking it one rock and one game at a time. But this was a big game to get ourselves on the right track and I think we're feeling good going into tomorrow."

Team Dropkin will look to carry the momentum from their first win of the tournament into the rest of the week.

“The most important thing is to get to feeling good,” added Dropkin. “Every game is important here.”
