HAMILTON/HAMILTON ADVANCE TO 2022 U.S. MIXED DOUBLES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

On Saturday afternoon at Bob Suter’s Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton, Wisconsin, Teams Hamilton/Hamilton and Walker/Stopera faced off in the National Championship semifinal.

It was Team Hamilton/Hamilton that started the game with hammer, but Walker/Stopera was the first team on the board, stealing a single point in the first end.

Hamilton/Hamilton was the first team to score a multiple after Becca Hamilton executed a double takeout in the fourth end to score three.

The Hamilton siblings were first on the board in the second half with a score of two, but Walker/Stopera were quick to answer, scoring two with the powerplay in the sixth end.

Team Hamilton/Hamilton utilized its powerplay in the seventh end to score two points and move ahead 8-4 and secure victory in the eighth end by running Walker/Stopera out of stones.

In the 3 vs. 4 page playoff game, Team Sinclair/Ruohonen defeated Strouse/Casper 9-5 and will advance to face Walker/Stopera in the semifinal game on Saturday at 7pm.

Team Hamilton/Hamilton will face the winner of Sinclair/Ruohonen and Walker/Stopera in the Championship final on Sunday at 11am.
