GOVERNANCE 4.0 AD HOC COMMITTEE MEMBERS ANNOUNCED

December 20, 2022.

 The USA Curling Board of Directors is pleased to announce the members of the Governance 4.0 Ad Hoc Committee. 

The curling community is filled with talented people, and we thank all who volunteered. Members of the committee were chosen for both their skill sets and the constituencies they represent—arena clubs, large established clubs, small clubs, and the various regions throughout the country.  

The Chair of the Governance 4.0 Ad Committee is Marc Beyer (Saint Paul Curling Club). Other members are John Benton (Four Seasons Curling Club), Corey Crowell (Lewiston Curling Club), Karen Dundore (Rice Lake Curling Club), Brian Ewart (Potomac Curling Club), Ann Kirkpatrick (Belfast Curling Club), Kris Klinkhammer (Evergreen Curling Club), Patrick McDonald (Coyotes Curling Club), Harley Rohrbacher (Mayfield Curling Club), Mikhail Simin (San Francisco Bay Curling Club), Mimi Stevinson (Rock Creek Curling), Sam Strouse (Chaska Curling Center), Ken Tonis (Colonial Curling Club), Fran Walsh (Dallas-Fort Worth Curling Club), and Jim Windsor (Orlando Curling Club). Bret Jackson (USA Curling Chair), Dean Gemmell (USA Curling Interim CEO), and David Patterson (United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee) will serve as Ex-Officio members of the committee.

These individuals have an important and challenging task, and we are grateful to them for offering their valuable time and talents. The Board of USA Curling believes this group will produce thoughtful, meaningful improvement, and we hope that all who love the sport will provide the support they need to complete the work.  

“Review and revision of our governance will make USA Curling stronger and more vital,” noted Bret Jackson, Chair of USA Curling. “Important shifts in direction and overall management has already been made in recent weeks, and that will continue as this committee completes its work.”  

“It's important to show curlers across the country that we’re moving towards meaningful change,” added USA Curling Interim CEO Dean Gemmell. “This is an opportunity to introduce a new membership model that the curling community will embrace.” 

The launch meeting of the committee is scheduled for the first week of January, and work is expected to be completed by June of 2023 for consideration at the Members’ Assembly in October of 2023.
