[EAGAN, MN, February 23, 2024] —Traverse City, Michigan, is gearing up to host the 2024 Mixed Doubles National Championship at the recently built Traverse City Curling Club. From Feb. 27 to March 3, this championship will bring together the nation's finest teams in the high-energy discipline of mixed doubles curling.

The Opening Ceremony and pool play begin on Tuesday, Feb. 27, with competition culminating with the finals on Sunday, March 3. View the full competition schedule here. The Traverse City Curling Club opened their dedicated facility early last year, and it boasts five sheets, great viewing areas, and top-tier amenities.

Mixed Doubles, introduced as an Olympic discipline in 2018, has seen its popularity grow around the world in recent years. This two-person version of curling moves quickly, and rewards players who are well-rounded in all aspects of the game.

“It is exciting to host this championship as momentum for mixed doubles continues to build,” said Dean Gemmell, CEO of USA Curling. “This year’s field is incredibly deep with talent, and the team in Traverse City has done a terrific job. I know it will be a world-class event.”

The stakes are high for the top 16 teams, who will not only compete for national honors, but also vie for the opportunity to represent Team USA at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Östersund, Sweden, in April.

Reigning world champions Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin aim to defend their title against a strong field of contenders, including the 2023 national runner-ups Sarah Andersn and Andrew Stopera. The full field announcement is available here.

Tickets, including single-session and full-event passes, can be purchased here. Volunteer opportunites can be found here. For media inquiries, email jenna.burchesky@uscurling.org.
