[EDEN PRAIRIE, May 5, 2025]  A new chapter in international curling begins tomorrow as the first-ever Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship officially gets underway at the Saville Center in Edmonton, AB, Canada. The event features rising stars from around the world, including American representatives Heidi Holt and Zach Brenden who earned the honor of wearing the Red, White & Blue after capturing the USA Curling Junior Mixed Doubles crown this past November.

As the mixed doubles discipline matures and continues to grow around the world, this new junior championship marks a major milestone for the sport and a unique opportunity for young curlers to shine on the international stage.

Holt and Brenden are eager to make an impact in the event.

“Heidi and Zach have been working diligently, preparing to be the best versions of themselves at the World Championship,” said coach Keith Dropkin. “We feel ready to proudly represent and take on an exciting and extraordinary field.”

A total of 29 teams will compete in Edmonton, with qualifying round play beginning tomorrow. The teams are divided among four pools, with the top two teams in each advancing to the playoffs. The gold and bronze medal games will be at 3 PM MT on Sunday. For more information about the championships, visit the World Curling website.
