[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, June 25, 2026] — The 2027 Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals, a championship for curlers under the age of 21 that debuted two years ago and will determine representatives at the 2027 World Junior Mixed Doubles Championship, will return to the Cape Cod Curling Club in Falmouth, MA. The event will run from March 4th through the 7th.
The championship features 12 teams, competing in two pools of six. In addition to the four semi-finalists from 2026, teams will earn berths at qualifying bonspiels. The top four finishers at the CK Cup, an event hosted each year by Olympic silver medalists Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, will earn Nationals berths, and the top four finishers at the Seattle Granite Junior Mixed Doubles bonspiel will also advance to the Nationals.
“The level of play at last season’s Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals was outstanding, and so was the hospitality provided by the Cape Cod Curling Club, ” noted USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “The members delivered a fantastic experience for competitors in 2026, so we were thrilled when they expressed an interest in bringing it back in 2027.”
At last year’s inaugural Junior Mixed Doubles National Championship, Ella Wendling and Benji Paral earned the title with a thrilling last-rock win over Connor Grabow and Jersey Hollands.
“Our members enjoyed the host experience in 2026,” said Matina Heisler, President of the Cape Cod Curling Club. “It is exciting to see the next generation of elite curlers, and we look forward to introducing more young players and their families to our club and this area in 2027.”
Detailed information about eligibility and the process for earning berths in the 2027 Nationals are available in the 2026-27 Qualification Procedures document on the Championships Page.
