[EAGAN, MN, May 30th, 2023] — Fresh off their world championship victory, Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse are teaming up to host the CK Cup this November in Duluth, Minnesota. The event, proudly supported by USA Curling, aims to inspire the next generation of mixed doubles curlers.

The inaugural cash spiel will take place at the Duluth Curling Club Nov. 24-26.

"Mixed doubles is such a fun, fast-paced sport and it provides so much opportunity for curlers to display their talent and athleticism on the ice," said Dropkin. "I’ve worked with quite a few junior curlers over the years, and I always recommend that they pursue mixed doubles in addition to their four-person junior teams."

The primary objective of this event is to foster the growth of mixed doubles and nurture the development of young curlers. Dropkin and Thiesse have introduced a cash prize to provide aspiring athletes with a taste of high-pressure competition and the opportunity to compete for a significant reward.

"I grew up traveling and competing north of the border, and one of the most exciting parts of the weekend was playing for the big check," added Dropkin. "We are bringing that feature to our event with the goal of creating an opportunity for these kids to play under pressure with some money on the line."

Participants traveling to Duluth can expect top-notch rocks, exceptional ice conditions, and a substantial cash prize. Keep an eye out for more information about registration for the CK Cup.
