BRING COACH EDUCATION, ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT, AND ICE TECH TRAINING TO YOUR MEMBER CLUB
[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, August 12, 2026] — Imagine a weekend where your club becomes a regional hub for curling development.
The USA Curling Development Series is a three-day event designed to elevate every aspect of your club by bringing together athlete development, coach education, and ice technician training under one roof. Hosting clubs gain access to nationally recognized instructors, attract athletes from across the region, and provide valuable learning opportunities for volunteers, coaches, and members.
This isn't just an event—it's an investment in the future of your club. Currently, USA Curling is seeking two host locations for Development Series weekends—one in early December and another in late March.
Why host?
1) Improve your playing conditions.
The weekend begins with USA Curling Ice Technician Training, giving club ice makers and volunteers access to advanced education and best practices from experienced industry leaders.
Investing in quality ice directly improves the member experience and supports stronger athlete performance at every level.
2) Develop your coach pool.
Friday's USA Curling Coaching Clinic for new, advanced Level 3 Certification. Topics include:
Leadership and learning styles
Creating intentional practice plans
Athlete skill development
Delivery mechanics
Sweeping technique
Tactical and game strategy discussions
USA Curling Coach network access
By the end of the clinic, participants leave with enhanced knowledge, confidence, and a stronger connection to the national coaching community.
3) Provide a showcase opportunity for athletes, including those from your club.
The weekend features two Regional Talent Showcase Camps.
Camp 1
Athletes age 30 and older
Maximum 24 participants
Camp 2
Athletes under age 30
Maximum 24 participants
Athletes will receive structured technical delivery instruction, sweeping evaluation, skill-shot testing, game scenario training, and individualized feedback from experienced USA Curling staff and coaches. Players who participate may be invited, based on performance during the event and their stage in the development pathway, to the Emerging Talent Showcase in May of 2027.
4) Increase club visibility.
Hosting a Development Series weekend positions your club as a leader in education, training, and regional athlete development. Participants, coaches, officials, and volunteers travel from surrounding clubs, creating opportunities to:
