On Dec. 15-18, 2022, Kettle Moraine Curling Club (KMCC) in Hartland, Wis., will host the 2022 Wheelchair Mixed Doubles National Championship.

"Our membership is committed to growing the sport of curling in all segments of our local community," said Julie Fay-Krivitz, Kettle Moraine Curling Club President.  "This event provides a unique opportunity to bring world-class curling talent to our ice, amazing fans to our clubhouse and great energy to our home club community, a scenario that is rich with opportunities to fulfill our mission while serving the greater curling community."

Kettle Moraine Curling Club, home to five sheets of dedicated curling ice and over 200 members, has curated a welcoming environment that hosts curling seven days a week.

“Participants in this event will get the opportunity to curl on five sheets of some of the best ice Wisconsin has to offer,” said Steve Everett, Board member at Kettle Moraine Curling Club. “Our 100% volunteer, lead ice technician, Larry Laux, has traveled the world perfecting his craft and works hard to share that knowledge with the others that support him.  Participants can expect to be warmly embraced by the KMCC community, a community that includes curlers of all skill levels and experience.”

The 2022 Wheelchair Mixed Doubles National Championship will welcome the nation’s top wheelchair mixed doubles curling teams to compete for both the national title and the berth to represent the United States at the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2023.

This will mark the second consecutive year that Kettle Moraine Curling Club has hosted the Championship.

“Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have played a part in the creation and maintenance of the reputation of hosting amazing events, each lending their unique skills and talents to the task at hand,” added Everett. “Meanwhile, our leadership has kept a mindset of continuous improvement, never resting on the success of any one event, but always looking for small ways in which next time we can be just a bit better.”

USA Curling looks forward to bringing the 2022 Wheelchair Mixed Doubles National Championship to a site that works tirelessly to grow and foster a robust curling community.

In a continuous effort to welcome as many people to the sport as possible, KMCC is making improvements to the facility to allow for improved accessibility, including a new ramp, railing, and door automation.
