WORLD MIXED DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP GETS UNDERWAY IN GENEVA

[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 25, 2026] —Curling fans have turned their focus on Switzerland, as the ACE & Company World Mixed Doubles Championship begin in Geneva, running from April 25th through May 2nd at the Centre Sportif Sous-Moulin, home of Curling Club Trois-Chêne. The ACE & Company World Senior Curling Championships 2026 will run concurrently at the same venue.
This will mark the second time the city has hosted these two championships, having previously welcomed them in 2022. It will also be the final year both events will run concurrently, with the World Mixed Doubles Championship moving to early January in 2027.
The United States will be represented at the World Mixed Doubles Championship by Rachel Kawleski and Connor Kauffman, who earned the right to represent the country by winning the USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship this past January at the Bemidji Curling Club in Bemidji, MN.
Mixed Doubles curling has been a medal event at the Olympic Winter Games since 2018. At the recent Games in Cortina, the American duo of Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin won a silver medal and a spot on the podium—a first for the United States in this discipline.
For Kawleski and Kaufmann, this will be their first appearance at a World Mixed Doubles and in the highest level of international competition. They will be joined by Coach Dave Jensen.
Teams will compete in two pools of ten teams each, and play a full round-robin within their group. The Americans are in a pool that features countries with a strong record in international play, including Scotland, Canada, Italy, and Switzerland. round-robin play followed by knockout rounds to determine the world champion. The top three teams in each pool will advance to the playoff round.
In their opening game, the United States fell to Scotland. The Americans will play two games on Sunday, facing Switzerland in the morning session and Canada in the evening.
