[EAGAN, MN, September 26, 2023]  — Team Peterson (Tabitha Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Becca Hamilton, Tara Peterson, Vicky Persinger) and Team Dropkin (Korey Dropkin, Andrew Stopera, Mark Fenner, Tom Howell, Ben Richardson) will be Team USA at the 2023 World Curling Federation (WCF) Pan Continental Curling Championship (PCCC) in Kelowna, BC, Canada. The championship gets underway at the 12-sheet Kelowna Curling Club on October 29th and finishes on November 4th.

Established in 2021 and played for the first time in 2022, these championships will qualify five teams of each gender to the World Women’s and Men’s Championships in 2024. The championship was created when the Americas and the Pacific-Asia zone were merged into one qualifying championship so all countries would have the same opportunity to earn berths in the world championships. The European Championships will also qualify eight teams to the 2024 World Championships, and the host country receives a berth in the World Championship fields.

The Pan Continental Curling Championship, often referred to as the P-Triple Cs, will feature A and B divisions. In the Women’s A Division, the United States and Team Peterson will compete against Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and New Zealand. In the Men’s A Division, Team Dropkin will face off against Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Guyana, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand.

B Division teams will play in the same venue—entry is open to any other WCF Member Association from the Americas and Pacific-Asia regions.

Teams Dropkin and Peterson are currently the highest-ranked teams in the WCF World Team Rankings, and earned the right to be Team USA in Kelowna as a result. More information about the PCCC is available here.
