TEAM CONFIRMED FOR WHEELCHAIR MIXED AT PARALYMPIC GAMES

[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, November 24, 2025]  Following a demanding Selection Camp, the team that will compete in Wheelchair Mixed Curling at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games has been named.

The players under the Team USA banner in Cortina will be Matthew Thums, Oyuna Uranchimeg, Sean O’Neill, Dan Rose, and Katie Verderber. For Thums and Uranchimeg, this will be a second Paralympic appearance. O’Neill, Rose, and Verderber will make their debut at these Games.

Following the Selection Camp, National Wheelchair Team Director Pete Annis said, “So many players were deserving, and the choices were extremely difficult. In the end, we chose consistent performers who, collectively, create a powerful team dynamic. We know this team will put in the necessary work over the next few months as we aim for a podium finish.”

The Wheelchair Mixed team will join the Wheelchair Mixed Doubles duo of Laura Dwyer and Steve Emt, who captured their place on Team USA when they won the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials on November 15th in Sioux Falls. The two disciplines—Wheelchair Mixed and Wheelchair Mixed Doubles—will run concurrently in Cortina, so it is impossible for a player to compete in both.
