[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, September 16, 2025]  The points system for the Regions Cup, a new competition introduced by USA Curling for the 2025-26 season, has been determined.

The cup will recognize the best overall performance by a Recognized Regional Association across the four regionally-based championships—Arena Club Nationals, U18 Nationals, Club Nationals, and Mixed Fours Nationals. Points will be awarded at each championship as follows:

1st: 25 points 2nd: 18 points 3rd: 13 points 4th: 10 points 5th: 8 points 6th: 7 points 7th: 6 points 8th: 5 points 9th: 4 points 10th: 3 points 11th: 2 points 12th: 1 point

If a region has two representatives because of the fill policy for the event or defending champion status (Arena Club Nationals), only the points earned by the highest ranked team are counted. The placement of every team remains, but no second set of points are allotted if another team from the same region has finished higher.

“We’re excited to promote fun, healthy rivalries among our Recognized Regional Associations,” said USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “With this points formula, every game matters at every championship, and we’re hoping it keeps most regions in the mix for the overall title at the Mixed Fours Nationals, the final regionally-based championship of the season.”

USA Curling will update Regions Cup standings throughout the season, starting with results from the Arena Club Nationals this October in Las Vegas.
