[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, March 28th, 2024] Team Shuster is gearing up for a return to the world stage at the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championship in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, to represent Team USA. Competition will run from March 30 - April 7.

John Shuster’s team of Chris Plys, Colin Hufman, Matt Hamilton and John Landsteiner qualified for the championship by capturing the USA Curling Men’s Nationals title in early February at The Rink at American Dream in New Jersey. It was Shuster’s tenth national title, and the second-straight championship win for this lineup.

The team will look to build on past international success—Shuster-led teams captured bronze at the world championship in 2016 and gold at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018.

“Team Shuster has a wealth of experience at the world championship, and we’re excited to watch them represent Team USA,” said Katie Baker, USA Curling Sporting Director. “With a recent strong showing at the Aberdeen International Curling Championships, and their commitment to world championship preparation, this team is focused on returning to the podium and delivering a strong performance in Switzerland.”

Team Shuster will look to rebound from their eighth place finish at 2023 world championships, where they finished round robin play with a 5-7 record.

In total, Team USA has medaled 22 times at the world championship since 1959. The country has won the title four times.
