UPDATE: 2022 MEN’S AND WOMEN’S U.S. NATIONAL CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

USA Curling will not be moving forward with the 2022 Men’s and Women’s U.S. National Curling Championships scheduled for January 2-9, 2022, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases caused by the omicron variant nationwide, USA Curling Chief Executive Officer Jeff Plush said Wednesday this was a difficult yet necessary step to protect everyone involved.

"The overall health and safety of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and partners associated with putting on our National Championships is our highest priority," Plush said.  "Based on consultation with our medical team, this is the right decision, as it's paramount to protect our athletes, minimize risk and ultimately side with caution.”

USA Curling thanks the community of Cedar Rapids and the Cedar Rapids Curling Club for their collaboration, support, and efforts on the host committee.

USA Curling remains committed to protecting athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers, and host communities by continuing monitor and evaluate the public safety landscape moving forward as it relates to other scheduled events in 2022.

USA Curling is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Toyota, Twin Cities Orthopedics, Training HAUS, Brakebush, ISS (Ice, Sports & Solar), and Sitrin, and is partnered with IHG, Rock Solid Productions Inc., Laurie Artiss Ltd. – The Pin People, and United Airlines.
