[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, November 15, 2025] — Team Peterson (Tabitha Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Tara Peterson, Taylor Anderson-Heidi, Coach Cathy Overton-Clapham) has emerged as the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling champion.
Peterson, an Olympian in 2018 and 2022, led her team to a 5-1 record in the qualifying round, the team’s only loss coming against Team Strouse (Delaney Strouse, Anne O’Hara, Sydney Mullaney, Madison Bear, Coach Mike Harris) in the final game of round-robin play. In the Best-of-Three final, Peterson faced Team Cousins (Elizabeth Cousins, Annmarie Dubberstein, Allison Howell, Liz Janiak, Coach Grayland Cousins), who defeated Strouse in a Friday morning tiebreaker after both teams finished the round-robin with identical 3-3 records.
In Game One of the final, Peterson jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the Fifth End break. Cousins responded with a score of two in the sixth end, but Team Peterson grabbed three points in the eighth on their way to a 7-4 victory.
Game Two followed a similar path, with Peterson staking a three-point lead after taking two in the sixth end. Cousins responded with two in the seventh end but Peterson bounced back with two points in the eighth end and a single in the ninth to secure the win.
With the victory, Team Peterson will represent the United States at the Olympic Qualifying Event that gets underway on December 6th in Kelowna, BC, Canada. The top two finishers in Kelowna will earn berths in Women’s curling at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games.
“Winning the Olympic Trials feels incredible, and we’re truly proud of the work our team has put in to get here.” said lead Taylor Anderson-Heide. “But we know the job’s not finished yet. We’re excited to carry this momentum into the Olympic Qualifier and keep pushing for that spot on the world’s biggest stage.”
