[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, August 22, 2026]  USA Curling will return to the Fort Wayne Curling Club from January 7th through the 10th for the 2027 Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Nationals.

This event, open to all American wheelchair curlers who are eligible to compete at the 2027 World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Championship, was also held in Fort Wayne in 2025.

“As the new quadrennial gets underway, we look forward to building on our strong showing in this discipline at the 2026 Paralympic Games ,” said USA Curling Director of Wheelchair Curling Pete Annis. “The city of Fort Wayne has a strong adaptive sport culture, and we’re thrilled to return to the club for another national championship.”

Wheelchair Mixed Doubles was part of the Winter Paralympic program for the first time in 2026. The Team USA representatives in Cortina, Laura Dwyer and Steve Emt, won the 2026 Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Team Trials in Sioux Falls, SD, when they defeated Penny Ricker and David Samsa in a Best-of-Three final. USA Curling was the first National Governing Body to hold a Paralympic Team Trials alongside an Olympic Team Trials.

The winning team at the Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Nationals will advance to represent the United States at the 2027 World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Championship, slated for Lohja, Finland, from March 1st through March 8th. Registration for the Nationals will open in September.
