On the heels of a successful 2022 5-and-Under National Championship, USA Curling is pleased to invite 5-and-Under bonspiels across the country to apply to be qualifier events for the 2023 Championship.

The USA Curling 5-and-Under National Championship is a grassroots-oriented Championship, designed for curlers with five years of curling experience or less.

The 2022-23 season will host 23 qualifier bonspiels (to be announced at the close of application period) with the winner of each event earning a spot to the National Championship. If the winner declines the berth, it will be given to the runner-up. The 24th spot of the National Championship will be awarded to the club hosting the Championship.

“This process allows member clubs to maximize the potential of their pre-existing events, promotes pathways to competition for beginner curlers, and even motivates the creation of new events that benefit new member retention,” said USA Curling Director of Development Dean Gemmell.

To apply to be a qualifying bonspiel, complete this online form and provide as much information as possible about the event. A range of criteria is considered when choosing the qualifier bonspiels, including the number of expected entries, the event history, and the geographic location.

USA Curling is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Toyota, Twin Cities Orthopedics, Training HAUS, Brakebush, ISS (Ice, Sports & Solar), and Sitrin, and is partnered with IHG, Rock Solid Productions Inc., Laurie Artiss Ltd. – The Pin People.
