[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, June 24, 2025] — USA Curling is proud to announce that the 2026 Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals will be held at the Cape Cod Curling Club in Falmouth, MA.
The event will run from March 12-15, 2026. Information about the qualification process, new in 2025-26, is available in the Qualifying Procedures document.
“We are grateful to Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin for allowing us to use the CK Cup as the national championship for Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals in 2024-25,” said USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “As exciting as it was to have 35 teams in Duluth over Thanksgiving weekend, an open-entry championship is not sustainable. As a result, we are moving to a 12-team national championship, and we’re hopeful this year’s Qualifying Bonspiels can attract fields of a similar size we saw last year in Duluth and culminate in a highly competitive national championship.”
At last year’s inaugural Junior Mixed Doubles National Championship, Heidi Holt and Zach Brenden out of the Capital Curling Club in Bismarck, ND, captured the title. They went on to represent the United States at the first World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Facing a field of 29 teams from around the globe, Holt and Brenden turned in a strong performance, qualifying for the playoffs before dropping their quarter-final game to the eventual champions from Italy.
“Anyone who has curled in Cape Cod, whether in one of their famous summer spiels or during the traditional season, knows they deliver incredible hospitality,” Gemmell added. “We thank the club and its Board of Directors for hosting this important championship, and look forward to a great event.”
