[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, March 24, 2026] —  USA Curling is scheduling its first Emerging Talent Showcase, an opportunity for young players in the country to have their skills evaluated, gain feedback to help improve, and develop relationships with other like-minded competitors.

Scheduled for May 15-17 at Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette, CO, the first invitations will go out this week. These will go to players under the age of 30 who are either beyond Junior Nationals eligibility or aging out when this season ends. More invites will follow after the 2026 Junior Nationals conclude.

Funded athletes currently in the National Team program will not be part of the Emerging Talent Showcase.

“We already have a good understanding of the abilities of National Team athletes, and they have more opportunities to demonstrate their talents,” said USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “This Showcase is intended to help identify additional promising players, and provide evaluation so they know areas they should seek to improve on going forward.”

In addition, USA Curling is conducting a search for a High Performance Director, and hopes to have someone in that position by the end of April. This event will also give that person an opportunity to see rising players prior to the traditional curling season.

“In addition to the invite-only Showcase, there will be another opportunity on Monday, May 18th, also at Rock Creek, for any American curler to demonstrate their skills and receive evaluation,” Gemmell added. “This will provide any player with elite-level aspirations true benchmarks, and provide a chance to demonstrate talent to high-performance staff.”

Players can register for open Showcase starting on April 8th.
