[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, October 12, 2026] — USA Curling is pleased to announce the Junior Curling Education Series, a schedule of webinars designed to help Member Clubs start, develop, and improve junior curling programs.

At each session, panelists will join to discuss effective approaches and share why some efforts didn’t work as planned. Age-specific planning, recreational versus competitive play, teaching techniques—these are just some of the topics that will be covered.

Three initial sessions are scheduled during the 2026-27 season, with a fourth planned based on feedback to the initial lineup below.

HOW TO BUILD OR IMPROVE A PROGRAM

  • Getting started, recruiting young players, keeping junior curlers engaged all season.

  • October 19th, 8 ET

HOW TO TEACH THE GAME

  • Instruction in the USA Curling Way with High Performance Director Brad Gushue

  • November (Date TBD)

MOVING YOUNG ATHLETES FROM RECREATIONAL TO COMPETITIVE PLAY

  • Assembling teams, developing practice plans, preparing for events

  • January (Date TBD)

USA Curling has also paused the Junior Development Program, an online series that was launched during the COVID era to keep young players engaged in the sport.

USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell explained, “The Junior Development Program was critical when it debuted and many weren’t on the ice, but after review in the off-season we decided the best thing we can do to develop young athletes and create lifetime curlers is help the local coordinators. This series will provide valuable insights, single-session and year-long plans, and training techniques to support the dedicated individuals who run local programs, and we look to build on it going forward.”

Interested individuals can register here for the first Junior Curling Education Series session, scheduled for October 19th at 8 PM ET.
