2024 U18 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TO BEGIN THURSDAY AT ROCK CREEK CURLING

[EAGAN, MN, January 10, 202] — The 2024 U18 National Championships will begin this Thursday as 12 Boys and 12 Girls teams travel to Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette, CO for the competition that runs from January 11th through the 14th.
The 2024 U18 Nationals features a wide array of teams spanning from coast-to-coast, ready for four days of fierce competition. For the Boys, all three medal winners from 2023 will return to battle for gold, highlighted by defending champion Team Hebert. On the Girls side, 2024 will welcome a new champion. Team Pekowitz, the 2023 silver medalists, lead a talented group of curlers seeking to reach the top step of the podium this year.

Opened in 2021, Rock Creek Curling has quickly established itself as one of the premier facilities in the country. A six-sheet facility just outside of Denver with an expansive recreational membership, it is also a popular venue for elite curling, acting as a two-time host for the Colorado Cup, a Mixed Doubles Nationals qualifier, and host of the 2023 U18 Nationals. After a successful Championships last year, the Lafayette-based club will welcome the top Under-18 curlers once again.
Twelve teams of each gender will be split into pools of six and play a round robin within their pool. Following the conclusion of pool play, the top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals on Sunday morning. The winners of each semifinal in both the Boys and Girls events will compete to be national champions, while the losers will play for bronze.
