[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 8th, 2024] The Club National Championships wrapped up this weekend at the Fargo-Moorhead Curling club, with twelve Men’s and twelve Women’s teams vying for the crown of best club-based team in the country.

When the final stones came to rest, it was Team Berg/Fargo-Moorhead Curling Club (Ryan Berg, Tim Hodek, Josh Moore, Randy Askew, Ethan Sampson) and Team Schroeder/Madison Curling Club (Sidney Schroeder, Joanna Seboth, Celeste Taylor, Lois Buckingham) collecting the hardware and booking their spots in the Everest North American Curling Club Championships in September.

In the Women’s Championship game, Team Schroeder faced Team Podoll/Fargo Moorhead Curling Club (Ann Podoll, Rachel Workin, Carissa Thomas). It was back-and-forth throughout, but with the score tied in the eighth, Schroeder stole a point to secure to claim the title of Women’s Club National Champion.

In the Men’s Championship, Team Berg was up against Team Kizlyk/Denver Curling Club(Darrick Kizlyk, Chris Neill, Josh Chetwynd, Tim Murphy). After the first three ends were blanked, Berg followed a score of two in the fourth end with a steal of one in the fifth, and carried that momentum to a 4-2 victory.

Team Workin/Fargo Moorhead Curling Club (Evan Workin, Jordan Brown, Darick Hensch, Jace Greene) topped Team Drews/Chaska Curling (Nick Drews, Max Smith, Luis Yin, Mike Richards) 7-4 to earn the Men’s bronze medal, while Team Aubrey/Coyotes Curling Club (Debra Aubrey, Lu Brock, Tracey Drummond, Karen Cole) bested Team Lagasse/Capital Curling Club(Nicole Lagasse, Stephanie Bohan, Val Sturlaguson, Breynn Sturlaugson) 8-5 to capture the Women’s bronze.

With the announcement of the new Everest North American Curling Club Championships earlier this year, there was additional incentive for competitors at the 2024 Club Nationals. The Everest event will be held at Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette, CO, on September 17th and 18th, with games broadcast live on CBS Sports each evening. Teams Berg and Schroeder will become Team USA for this championship, taking on Team Canada with the title of best club-based team in North America at stake.
