[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 9th, 2024] All eyes this week will be on a familiar locale as the 2024 Mixed Fours Nationals return to the Denver Curling Club for five days of competition taking place from April 10th through the 14th.

While curling initially arrived in Denver in 1965, dedicated ice had been absent from the metro area for years before the nationals host opened its facility in 2014. Since then, the Mile High City has quickly become a hub for both recreational curling and national events—the Denver Curling Club also hosted the 2023 Mixed Fours Nationals, and two consecutive editions of the U18 Nationals have been at nearby Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette.

Twelve mixed fours teams—two female players, two male players—will head to Golden, CO, to compete for the right to represent the United States at the 2024 World Mixed Fours championship.

“We are thrilled to bring the Mixed Fours Nationals back to the Denver Curling Club,” commented USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “The support of the Denver curling community has been truly remarkable, whether it’s been the Mixed Fours Nationals, U18 Nationals, or the 2023 Men's & Women's Nationals at the Denver Coliseum. It's a testament to the passion for curling in this part of the country, and we're excited to see the sport continue to thrive here.”

This year’s edition of the Mixed Fours Nationals promises to deliver top-notch competition. The reigning champions, Team Brundidge from the Midwest Curling Association, will seek to win back-to-back championships after a 9th place finish at the Worlds this past fall. Their path to victory will not be easy, however, as they face a formidable field, including last year’s runner-up Team Siggins from MOPAC and two-time Olympian Nina Roth, who will be skipping a Wisconsin-based rink.

Teams will be split into two groups of six and play a round robin within their pool, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the playoffs. Semi-finals will be on Saturday evening at 6 PM MT, while the gold and bronze medal games will be start at 10 AM MT on Sunday. Streaming for the event can be found on the Denver Curling Club YouTube channel.
