[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, July 23, 2026]  Qualification processes for the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Playdown, the 2027 Mixed Doubles Nationals, and the 2027 Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals have been confirmed and can be found in the Qualification Procedures document on the USA Curling website.

Mixed Doubles Playdown Event

With World Curling moving the Mixed Doubles championship from its traditional late spring date to early January, a 2027 World Mixed Doubles Playdown Event was added to this season’s championship schedule. This competition, slated for the Eau Claire Curling Club from October 28 to November 1, 2026, will determine which American team will represent the country at the 2027 World Mixed Doubles Championship.

Mixed Doubles National Championship

In late April of 2027, USA Curling will host a Mixed Doubles National Championship—that location will be announced in the coming weeks. The winner of that event will represent the United States at the 2028 World Mixed Doubles Championship. The dates and location of the U.S. Open Mixed Doubles Nationals qualifier, along with the U.S. Open Men’s & Women’s Nationals qualifier, were announced previously.

JUNIOR Mixed Doubles National Championship

Additionally, dates and locations have been finalized for the Junior Mixed Doubles Nationals qualifier bonspiels. The national championship, returning to Cape Cod in 2027, will have a 12-team field competing in two pools of six. In addition to the four semi-finalists from the 2026 championship, teams will earn berths at qualifier bonspiels as follows:

  • The CK Cup, an event launched in 2023 by Olympic silver medalists Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, is scheduled for its traditional spot on the calendar and will run from November 27-29, 2026, at the Duluth Curling Club in Duluth, MN. The four teams, not already qualified, with the best finishes at this event will earn berths in the 2027 Nationals.

  • The Seattle Junior Mixed Doubles Qualifier Bonspiel will run from January 16-18, 2027, at the Granite Club of Seattle. The four teams, not already qualified, with the best finishes at this event will earn berths in the 2027 Nationals.

The event coordinators for the CK Cup and the Seattle Junior Mixed Doubles Qualifier Bonspiel will manage the registration process for each event. USA Curling share registration information as soon as it becomes available.

Detailed information about eligibility and the process for earning berths in all 2027 USA Curling nationals championships are available in the 2026-27 Qualification Procedures document on the Championships Page.
