[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 8, 2026] — With invitations for the first USA Curling Emerging Talent Showcase from May 15th through the 17th, the national organization is pleased to announce that registration for the Open event will start on April 9th at 12 PM CDT. This is one day later than originally planned.
Scheduled for Monday, May 18th at Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette, CO, the Open event will have the same USA Curling staff on site as the weekend event. Players aiming to reach a higher level of competition will have their skills evaluated by coaches, gain feedback to help improve, and develop relationships with other like-minded curlers.
This all-day session is available to any curler who is an American citizen with a valid USA Curling Competitor or higher (Coach, Silver, Gold) membership. Participants will also need an Event Waiver that is valid at the time of the event.
Up to 60 spots will be available on first-come, first-served basis. If registration is full, please consider joining the waitlist at no cost. Additional participants may be able to attend in the event of cancellations, and the response to this event will help USA Curling gauge interest and plan future opportunities.
USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell said, “This is a great way for players who aspire to compete at the elite level to get valuable feedback while demonstrating their current abilities to high performance staff.”
The event will be divided into two groups, both starting at 8 AM on the 18th. Participants will have a three-hour on-ice session with National Team coaches and High Performance staff, a lunch break, and three hours of off-ice time. The off-ice portion will include an evaluation of fitness levels, knowledge of strategy and tactics, and an understanding of team roles. Abilities in each area will be assessed, and advice will be offered to help each player raise their skill levels.
If you are interested in attending, register through MyUSACurling starting at 12 PM CDT on Thursday, April 9th.
