[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, June 17, 2026] — USA Curling will be on the Range again in 2027.
After a successful Pan Continental Curling Championships (PCCC) in northern Minnesota last season, the national organization is pleased to announce the Senior Men’s & Women’s Nationals, a championship for curlers over the age of 50 that sends representatives to the World Senior Men’s & Women’s Championships, will be at Curl Mesabi from February 7-14, 2027.
The Senior Nationals is an open-entry event. In 2026, a total of 40 teams competed in Wisconsin at the Kettle Moraine Curling Club, with some draws also held at the Wauwatosa Curling Club.
“We were very grateful to the clubs that hosted this event last year, and the collaboration between Kettle Moraine and Wauwatosa made it possible to accommodate a very large field,” said USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “With the ever-increasing popularity of this championship and the incredible community support of the PCCC last season, we reached out to the eight-sheet Curl Mesabi facility and were thrilled when they agreed to host.”
Registration for the 2027 Senior Men’s & Women’s Nationals will open in July and close on December 1st at midnight Central Time. Since Senior Nationals is an open-entry event that requires advance planning of the draw schedule, registration closes earlier than some other championships. Teams will not be allowed to enter the event after the December 1st deadline.
“The PCCC was a large-scale event, and that has prepared us well to host the 2027 Senior Nationals,” noted Curl Mesabi President Stephanie Dowell. “Our members and the community are very proud of our facility in Eveleth, and we are excited to introduce competitors from across the country to our northern hospitality.”
In 2026, Team Farbelow, with Iron Range native and 2026 Olympian Rich Ruohonen at the third position, captured the national championship and went on to win gold at the World Senior Men’s event. Team Smith, with Margie Smith earning her tenth national seniors title, won the women’s division and just missed out on bronze at the Worlds.
